Due to an unfortunate error, Chandra Mayor’s bio was missing from issue 98 of Matrix. As a first step in rectifying this oversight, we are posting her bio here along with a never-before-published poem by this amazing poet. Sorry, Chandra!

Chandra Mayor is the author of three award-winning books of poetry and fiction, including the Lambda Award-winning story collection “All the Pretty Girls” and the novel “Cherry,” recipient of the Carol Shields Award. Published in numerous anthologies and magazines, she has run a dyke bar and a Human Library, exhibited textile-based art, written theatre reviews for http://www.thewinnipegreview.com and spoken/performed for DNTO, cabarets, political rallies, and Winnipeg’s Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts . Most recently she was the 2014 Carol Shields Writer-in-Residence at the University of Winnipeg.
